Here at Union, the Technology department offers many different technology courses such as the Fundamentals of Technology, TechConnect, Image Management, Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing, Fundamental of Web Design, Multimedia, Computer Science, AP Computer Science, Principles of Engineering, Intro to Design, and STEM. Union provides these courses to allow the students to be given the opportunities to make the most of their high school experience. These programs give the students the experience they would want for their pursued future careers that involve technology. Furthermore, it would prepare them for college or any form of education after high school.
Tiffany American Horse, a veteran teacher since 1998, teaches Computer Science using the PLTW curriculum. In 2014, she became the first teacher in Oklahoma using the PLTW Computer Science curriculum on a high school campus. The Computer Science pathway at Union High School was originally part of the Career Tech BITE division, but was revised in 2014 to become part of the STEM division. In 2016, the decision was made to offer an Advanced Placement option for the Computer Science Principles and Computer Science A courses to 10-12th grade students.
Union Public Schools has implemented PLTW and STEM throughout its K-12th grade curriculum.
